Wenn man seinen vollen Namen, Marion Blueberry Racoon Parker, liest, dann fragt man sich unweigerlich, was seine Mutter wohl bei der Namensfindung geraucht hat. Tatsächlich war die Alleinerziehende tief in den Sphären der Hippieszene abgetaucht; anders ist es wohl auch nicht zu erklären, dass sie ihr Kind unbeachtet des Geschlechts nach sich selbst benannt hat. Und ja, manchmal kassiert der mittlerweile 54jährige für seinen Namen einen schrägen Blick, aber im Prinzip ist es ihm egal; Marion kennt es ja nicht anders. Zudem ist der freiberufliche Maler ohnehin meist in seiner eigenen Welt unterwegs und sich in keinster Weise dem gewahr, was die Außenwelt ihm so spiegelt. Am 09.01.1967 in Chicago geboren, zog es den freiheitsliebenden Reiselustigen lange Zeit quer durch die Welt; zuletzt lebte er in einem Öko-Dorf in Costa Rica, ehe es in aus verschiedensten Gründen wieder in seine Heimatstadt verschlug, wo auch sein Cousin und sein Neffe leben. Hier hat er sich, in Aussicht auf ein Erbe, ein kleines, renovierungsbedrftiges Häuschen in der 213 W Evergreen Lane bezogen mit der Absicht, es zu renovieren; wenn ihn allerdings die Muse packt, gerät das auch schon mal in Vergessenheit. Es lässt sich wohl ohne schlechtes Gewissen sagen, dass Marion kein einfacher Charakter ist, aber er trägt das Herz am rechten Fleck und ist im Kern ein guter Mensch. Manchmal weiß er das allerdings durch eher unerfreuliche Charaktereigenschaften meisterhaft zu verstecken.
